Benha Children Hospital
The Benha Children Hospital is one of the biggest and most vital specialized public hospitals in Egypt. Affiliated to the Ministry of Health, it aims at providing an affordable, high quality medical care for neonates, infants and young children. Located in Benha, 50 kilometers from Cairo, it is easily accessible from all high ways of the Nile delta and provides tertiary healthcare for pediatric patients in the Delta.
Benha Children's Hospital (BENCH) started functioning in 1998 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hadidi world renown editor in chief of highly specialized medical textbooks.
Starting from 2003, the emergency department began receiving an increasing number
of patients reaching more than 100 per day and more than 200 patients are seen daily in the outpatient clinics. The hospital also hosts more than 260 surgeries per month, mostly complicated cases with an average mortality rate of 4.5%.
The hospital has its position in
the global healthcare map as it has highly specialized units
such as the hypospadias unit, the Hirschsprung's disease unit, the cleft lip & palate unit, the high risk pregnancy and genetic disorders unit, the pediatric oncology unit and the hematology unit. With an internationally experienced staff of university professors and medical consultants, advanced emergency and critical care equipments and continuing scientific contributions through its different research projects, the hospital provides ideal settings for medical training and research work.
