Community Development Arm
Touching our community is one of our EMSA key values. The Community development arm has been created just for that.
EMSA is all about “impact”, being a recognized NGO we have access to all the different aspects of our community and, by making bold steps towards making a difference, we enable our community to benefit from our members energy, skills and will to do something. We make an extra effort to make differences that would affect the community not only in a tangible way, but also on the long run.

The work in the community development arm is carried out in two synchronous approaches completing each other:
Short term initiatives |
|
Long term initiatives |
| These are initiatives that tackle an insisting urgent need that doesn’t necessarily require a long term strategy or as an initial step towards a long term initiative. Those initiatives are only conducted once, take only one day or don’t require more than one year in preparation. For typical short EMSA Community Development initiatives think of avian flue awareness campaign or orphan’s day celebration. |
|
You can guess it, those are initiatives EMSA takes with a long term goal in consideration. They are usually projects conducted in partnership with a national or international initiative partner and are treated as independent projects with its own internal bylaws, managing team, strategic plan and evaluation system. One of our biggest long term initiative national project is the Smoking Free Life initiative in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization. |
