The Dental Arm
The idea of a Dental Arm in EMSA has been one that navigated through our initial discussions about the establishment of the EMSA infrastructure since its early beginnings. We also sought creating an organization that manages to regroup healthcare sciences students in general and, in the same time, provide internal entities that would give a certain degree of specificity in its theme.
We spend two years looking for the perfect initiator of this idea and, our structured/random errands around the country gave us the opportunity to finally find Mohammed Yasser, the first EMSA Dental Arm Director, together with his revolutionary vision.

Target Audience:
A "student" by definition is a learner who is enrolled in an educational institution - someone who, by long study, has gained mastery in one or more disciplines - a person who makes a thorough study of a subject.
Based on the previous point I can add that any medical profession is a long life learning experience that should be readily updated in order to cope with the latest technologies and researches in the field. When tackling the Dental students then we are targeting not only the ones in dental Colleges within Egypt but also the ones who have finished their graduate studies and are either pursuing their career in the market as Dentists or are actively engaged in academic life through post graduate studies (which includes everyone in the dental field).
I would also like to involve other EMSA members who are non-dental students in our work (people from Medical, Nursing, Business, IT, Statistics sciences..etc.): A platform supplied by the EMSA general structure. The reason behind the incorporation of the previous fields is because you'll always need their expertise at some point then why not incorporate them from the beginning and raise awareness about the possibilities of combining efforts and integration.
Realizing the fact that, together as a group, sharing the same goal can be more fruitful regarding results on both short and long-term basis, would be a motivating factor in itself. Our Unity would definitely serve the community well by creating job opportunities for capable and talented EMSA members.
This will lead to elevating the caliber of people working in that field creating a certain standard for competition which would in itself benefit their community.

Arm Goals
1. Involvement of national dental students in various dental activities (as a priority) and other activities that may enrich their personalities or equip them to be qualified dentists (at heart before mind or skill).
2. Providing International exposure for dental students through exchange programs, studying abroad for a certain period of time and updates with new dental materials and techniques.
3. Communicating learned experiences of exchange students coming back from abroad to other EMSA members who weren't lucky enough.
4. In Egypt, it is very known to dental students that Kasr El Aini dental school is the place where mostly all the patients with critical or peculiar cases are referred; thus we need first to redistribute these cases to other dental colleges for many reasons among which are that its too much for Kasr el Aini college to handle, its too far from many people and other colleges are suffering from the lack of patients which affects the students' training.
5. Planning for expansion in specific regions on either of 2 levels: dental students availability or lack of proper dental services.
6. Aiming at making an EMSA dentists as a trademark for excellence in the market.
7. Making EMSA the gathering point for dentists to meet and discuss their worries about dental practice in Egypt and its progress and keeping pace with international arena's development in the field.
We are currently creating the nucleus team for the EMSA Dental Arm.
