Continuous education course:

Interception of Class III malocclusion using the new TMA Intermaxillary Traction Spring Appliance

A one-day lecture and hands- on course.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of the course, the participant will:

• Understand basically what is Class III malocclusion, recognizing the different forms it can be presented with.
• Be alerted to the serous complications and aggressive forms of treatment options if a potential Class III case were ignored.
• Learn how to detect and diagnose a potential case, and determine if its suitable case to be treated by the proposed appliance in the course.
• Learn how to construct and manipulate the new innovative TMA Traction Spring Appliance.

 

 

Agenda:

 

·         10- 11 am: Introduction to Class III Malocclusion.

·         Break.

·         11 am-12 pm: Potential risks of ignoring a potentially severe case of Class III Malocclusion, with special emphasis on different treatment modalities.

·         12- 1 pm: Diagnostic procedures specific for Class III Malocclusion.

·         1-2 pm: Introduction to TMA wire mechanical properties and its advantages over steel alloys.

·         Lunch break.

·         2-4 pm: Hands on practice, manipulating TMA 0.036” wire and construction of the appliance.

·         4-5 pm: Questions.

Adam's plier
Loop forming plier
Heavy wire cutter
Upper and lower stone casts
