Health and Nutrition Symposium
Senghor University - Alexandria
Upon personal invitation, EMSA has open its arms wide open to a new “genre” of EMSA Clubs. “Le Club Francophone” is our newest concepts under development. This highly specific branch would be focusing on opening new doors to French speaking medical students from all across Egypt, and to open other doors for the French language and culture to be a part of the medical scene in Egypt.
To promote this concept and explore its different possibilities, EMSA has been invited to the “Colloque de Santé et de Nutrition” hosted by the Senghor University and the French Cultural Center of Alexandria. During these 2 days of continuous pampering, we managed to widen our base of contacts, to make new friends and to see the world from a “francophonic eye”.
With participants from around the world (African French speaking countries, Canada, Switzerland, the US, Tunis, Algeria, Morocco and naturally, France), this very intensive symposium covered the topic of Health and Nutrition from all possible aspects. Beginning with scientific research, passing by medical care and reaching to the role of non-governmental organizations, the sessions showed a comprehensive approach to the topics chosen.
In addition to our 30 minutes presentation, which was highly acclaimed, we were gracefully invited to a cocktail party at the French consulate, and an exclusive dinner at the Senghor’s University Dean residence. We then left our luxurious rustic hotel “Le Metropole” and headed to Cairo in a private Limo eating Foul and Falafel bought from the famous “Mohamed Ahmed” restaurant.
