It is said that photography is the art of documenting the past, capturing the present and introducing the future but who would have thought that photography can be for charity?

"Photography for charity" is the name of the event that implemented by the EMSA Photography Club and the EMSA - Alex local branch.

The idea behind the event is quite simple as much as intriguing it is a cooperation between three teams: the photographers, the photography fans and patients at Ayady AlMostakbel center. Since many photographers have amazing shots, now they can donate their photographs to the event and these photographs will be sold for money donated to Ayady AlMostakbel charity center to help the patients there.

Though the event is mainly a charity event which aims at raising money for patients at Ayady AlMostakbel Center, it is not the only aim. The event also helps young enthusiastic photographers to get known and gain an audience. It is supposed to be an encouragement for young photographers and their arts and it also serves to deliver a message that says art is not only about beauty but that art should have a cause and a message to deliver. It is through the fusion between art and social causes that art can fulfill its duty of making the world more beautiful and making it a better place to live in… it is art for charity… it is photography for charity.

The Opening of the event was held at Rufy's art center in Alexandria, on the 1st of August 2009.
